19Th C Chausible Vestment Brocade Bullion EmbrdAntique 19th c. Ornate chausible vestment brocade, buillion, embroidery. Textiles, linens antique textiles. Click images to view larger pictures. Chausible, fiddelback style. 19th century.
Veyr ornate and in beautiful antique condition. Teh lavish fabric is silk brocade large scale floral, possibly pomegranate and bittersweet. Cardinal red wiht cream and soft green. It has a dimensoinal luminous quality to it. The front, or fiddleback has a pnael of magenta brocade with metallic embroidered wheat and roses. The back of the chausible has traditional ihs. The cross is created with cardinal red brocade. It is embroidered with silver bullion thread. The ihs is couched.
The entire chausible is trimmed around the edge ni bullion trim. The entire piece is accented or trimmed in yards of buillon trim. Lined ni cotton. Double linen underlniing to give it is stiff shape. Condition sold as found. Very good to excellent antique condition. It presents beautifully, is sturdy and completely functional as found. Some wear to brocades. A small amount of the couched threads are loose.
Some light soiling. Mostly at shoulders. We have pictured defects worth noting. Please be sure to enlarge the photos.
